Question 1

Does PERLO track my location in the background?

Accepted Answer

No. Check-ins are manual only — you press Check in to share a single spot, with an optional note. PERLO never follows your movement, never runs in the background, and keeps no routes or movement history.

Question 2

Can I use this for oilfield or shift schedules?

Accepted Answer

Yes. PERLO handles fixed shifts, rotating shifts, and days-on/days-off hitch patterns — 7/7, 14/14, 14/7, 21/7, 28/14, or a custom pattern. The calendar calculates your on/off bands automatically from one setup.

Question 3

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

There is a free-forever tier with no credit card. The Family and Perlo plans add unlimited members, plus the map with saved places and check-ins.

Question 4

Is my family's location private?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Location sharing is off by default for every member. You choose exactly who can see each person, and visibility is enforced on our servers — not just hidden in the app — so a client cannot bypass your choices.

Question 5

Will my kids or grandparents be able to use it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Big text, large tap targets, and an optional Big/Simple display mode make PERLO usable for any age on day one — simple enough for a child or a grandparent.
